Your
session
Every portrait session is unique. It will be tailored to your needs based on the type of portraits you are trying to capture. Sessions typically last about one hour, but can vary from 30 minutes to 2 hours to accommodate clothing changes, snacks or feedings, even naps if needed. Candace's style
My style and approach to photography is relaxed and laid back. I spend time getting to know the subjects so they feel at ease. I strive to capture personalities, not forced smiles. Your
consultation
As part of your session, we will discuss the elements that will contribute to the creation of your portraits in person, by phone, or by email. Clothing choices, location, and purpose will all have an influence on your portrait. Location
Natural light photography allows many options for the location of your session. We will discuss your choices during the consultation. If you are interested in a “studio” session, my home is the best choice. However, for outdoor sessions, Tallahassee offers many beautiful settings. Clothing
I recommend keeping clothing simple to keep the focus on the subject. A solid colored shirt and jeans or slacks and bare feet work great. For groups, try to coordinate your clothing by keeping colors in the same family or range such as all blue or all dark colors. I highly recommend avoiding bright stripes or bright patterns and clothing with words or brand names that will date your portraits. But, every rule is made to be broken! If you have a special or favorite piece of clothing that you love by all means bring it along! Making
your portraits personal
While I favor simple portraits with few props, I encourage you to bring along any items that are special to you to include in your portraits. A special rattle, a tattered and well loved teddy, sporting equipment, anything that will make your portrait even more you is welcomed and encouraged. Some
tips
A couple of things to keep in mind to help your session run smoothly… • try to only bring those people that will be in the portraits, additional people can be a distraction for children • please keep your child’s schedule in mind when choosing your session time • be sure your child is well rested and fed before your session, hungry or tired children can be a challenge to photograph Your
proofs
Typically 1 – 2 weeks after your portrait session an online gallery will be provided for you to view your proofs. The gallery will be available for a limited time and your order must be placed during that time. If you need your gallery reloaded after it expires, additional charges will apply. Orders generally take 2 – 3 weeks for delivery, but additional time may be needed for special effects or other special services. All proofs that you order will be kept on file indefinitely. All other proofs will be kept for one month and discarded if not ordered. |
